For new players who want a taste of Stalker, download Stalker Anomaly. It's a free version of basically all 3 Stalkers combined and has plenty of mods so you can upgrade the graphics and game play. Totally worth it and have sunk hundreds of hours in it.

Play clear sky, shadow of Chernobyl, then Pripyat. You won’t regret it the climax is a climax. Lamansk was pretty cool though

the problem is STALKER was never about cinematics but gameplay, how elaborate was the world and what you can do, none of that I can see here

I played Shadow of Chernobyl but I didn't get to finish it because I've burned out playing it. I played Clear Skies but I didn't get to finish it because of bugs crapping out the ending. I played Call of Pripyat and that was the only game in the old STALKER trilogy that I've managed to finish. When I did so, I felt proud of that fact because the ending slides lets you see the effects of all of what you've done.

i was into the same games but s.t.a.l.k.e.r. was there to this game will be a definite buy and play clear sky in a day i am 14+ hours in and still dont feel half way through ( Im probably just bad and i played this series backwards with the last game first )

Ngl, kinda disappointed when I see Rambo there standing in the middle of the open with 2 guys shooting at him from 7 yards and he lasts longer than .2 seconds, like nah if it’s stalker it has to be absolutely unforgiving, not crisis 2

Don't skip clear sky. It's a fantastic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game. It has middle child syndrome, but it's by no means a bad game.

The way I'd put anomaly is that it's a great platform for modding (despite it already being a standalone mod itself). Anomaly brings the nobody just getting to the zone and learning the ropes and becoming more successful, however, it still suffers from a somewhat clunky gunplay and dated graphics in some areas. When heavily modded however, it becomes a game so good that it competes with the best shooters in today's market while keeping all the stalker vibe. Now sure, not everyone is about installing 300+ mods and figure out the order they have to be in but that's where modpacks like GAMMA or EFP come in. These of course require a bit more to install than just anomaly itself but of course, they are a world difference. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
